My New Single

Every album has a soul and a heartbeat. For my upcoming record Souvenirs, the soul is the mission 'Keep The Great Crooners Alive', and the heartbeat is the title track itself. It is the only original song on the album, and I wrote it together with René van Mierlo as a tribute to the great crooners who shaped me as an artist and as a person.

A Song for the Legends

Every other track on the album is a classic that, in one way or another, left a mark on my life. They are musical souvenirs I collected along the way: songs that moved me, inspired me, and eventually helped me find my own voice.

But Souvenirs is different. It is my thank-you letter to the legends. To their style, their authenticity, their timeless sound. This song is my way of saying: your music still matters, and as long as I’m alive, I’ll keep singing along.

The Meaning Behind the Lyrics

The lyrics of Souvenirs tell the story of how music can keep someone’s spirit alive. Even if the artists we admire are no longer with us, their songs remain like little souvenirs of who they were.

For me, music has always been more than entertainment. It has been a companion through highs and lows, a voice of comfort when I needed it, and a celebration when life felt bright. Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Michael Bublé, Robbie Williams, they were always there. In a way, their music raised me, like my family and friends did.

That’s exactly what Souvenirs is about: the power of music to carry memories, to keep someone close, and to remind us that even though time passes, we’re never really alone as long as the music plays on. (You probably already read between the lines: It doesn't just count for great celebrities or artists, but obviously for anyone in our lives.)

A Tribute, and a Promise

The chorus repeats a promise: I’ll keep singing along. That line is both personal and universal. It is me promising to keep the crooners alive through my voice, and it is an invitation for listeners to join me in keeping these songs alive for the next generation.
